Service Overview

Targeted reinforcement systems selected to address the governing geological mechanism, access constraints, and long-term performance requirements. Rather than applying a single system across an entire face, we match the reinforcement to the failure mode: local bolting for discrete blocks and wedges, deeper post-tensioned cable anchors where instability is large-scale, and sub-horizontal drainage to relieve groundwater pressure within joints and fractures.

Structural rock reinforcement requires precise alignment with the rock mass discontinuity network. DCC utilizes crawler-mounted drill rigs, crane-suspended drill masts, and pneumatic hand drills to install high-yield passive steel dowels (B500B / threadbar), active resin/cementitious-grouted rock bolts, and multi-strand post-tensioned cable anchors for deep slope equilibrium. Complementary perforated sub-horizontal drainage pipes relieve groundwater pressure within joints and fractures that could otherwise trigger slope instability during rainfall events.

Governing Standards
CIRIA C591 (Rock bolting: a guide to good practice for rock engineering projects), BS EN 1537 (Ground Anchors), BS 8081 (Ground Anchorages), ASTM A615 / A722, PTI DC35.1 (Rock & Ground Anchors)
Primary Engineering Focus
Deep Rock Mass Stabilization, Load Transfer & Groundwater Pressure Dissipation

Execution Methodology

Our Delivery Process

01
Phase 01

Percussion Drilling & Logging

Specialist crawler rigs drill designated bolt trajectories, logged by geologists to verify rock strata competence and depth.

02
Phase 02

Anchor Bar / Cable Insertion

High-tensile steel bars or multi-strand cables fitted with centralizers and corrosion protection sleeves are placed.

03
Phase 03

Pressure Grouting & Curing

High-strength non-shrink cementitious grout is pumped under controlled pressure from the bottom up to eliminate air voids.

04
Phase 04

Post-Tensioning & Proof Testing

Calibrated hydraulic jacks apply proof loads up to 150% of design capacity, with full load-extension logging recorded for verification.
